Power Windows

How much does it cost for the parts to change from manual to power windows? Can the conversion be a do it yourself, or is it better to get a pro to do it? What is the finished product like, what heppens to the manual ****?

The mod can be done.
Wont be OEM style UNLESS your willing to fork up some SERIOUS money looking into the thousands (close to 3g's -5g's).
Parts needed will be needed are
Automatic Doorpanels with switches
Regulator (the actual motors)
harnesses

This is the cheapest way of stayin stock like look and doing it under a verrrrrrrrrryyyyy reasonable budget.

It can be done by yourself if you kno stuff about wiring etc..
You will need alot of patinence to run the wires through form underneath.
Professionally it will cost you alot to do.
I did mine myself and never had a problem and i have a 4 dr too. If u look at it you cannot tell the difference between mine and a regular ex car UNTIL you look at the fuse box cuz there aint no fuses in there for the power windows THATS when you trip out LOL

Your lookin at minimum of 2 days given that you have all the needed stuff and time.

I guess going to the scrap yard and getting an entire door with these options wouldn't be cheaper?

Aftermarket windows.......there are numerous window kits on the market......some cheap.....some very good, (just like factory)

If you go the aftermarket route, it will cost around $250 - $300 (depending on the quality of the kit, and what it comes with.....ie....with or without wires/switches....ect)

You'd be looking at around 1/2 a day to install them (if you have all the tools) Sorry Will. LOL

Most kits Come with everything.

I would recomend SPAL.....they make the best kits, IMO.

Around $300.

As for the door windows levers, it would be covered by a little black cap, that can be painted to match the door skin.

Let me know if you want a pwr window kit.

If you are not a total quad, you can do the install yourself. It's just time comsuming.

Double cable drive......

Single cable/spline drive........

I can get both.

I can't remember which one came with the switches, and which one didn't.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

example of swithes....

I personally like them mounted in another place other than the doors.....easier to run the wires.

If you want to see whats involed in an aftermarket power window install........
