Lost 1 remote to my alarm
When I bought the car they guys who I bought it from only gave me one remote, he said he didnt know what happened to the other one.
So I just want to know, is there anyway I can deactivate the lost remote ? Just incase he does have it ??
Can I reset the system somehow ???

depending on the alarm you can get a new remote programmed and it wil dump the previous remote so it can only hold 2 or 3 remotes but first youd need the manual if its not a common alarm like viper avital or nordic hope that helps . oh yeah a new remote is like 15 depending on the one you go with

for alpine if you have the model number yo could lookup the manual if you dont have it find a shop that deals with alpine they could help you better other option if you still dont feel secure get a new alarm.

Depending on how old the alarm is, I would just get a new one. I'm sorry, but I don't believe what that guy said. I for one, keep the second remote I have with the spare set of keys.....it's just common sense. So if he din't have the second remote, I find that fishy.

The way most alarms work...well maybe just mine...is if you only have 1 remote program it 4 times (however many remoters your alarm can take)
This way you fill all the memory slots with one remote making any others unuseable. My alarm book reccomemned this.
It was also the first thing I did after having my alarm installed. Who knows if they added another remote for their use at a alater date!
