Locating Door trigger input

Locating Door trigger input
I'm installing an alarm and having trouble finding the wire to use as the door trigger input.
the alarm has a input for a positive trigger (+12v when door is open)
and a negative negative trigger (ground when any door is open and 12v when all doors are shut)
would I use the positive or negative input for a 92 civic?
which wire should I tap into and where is it located?
I thought it would be the Green/Red wire but when I tested that wire mith a multimeter I got no change in voltage when opening/closing the door (just stayed at a couple mV)
Thanks for any help!

take the wire running from the door pin switch, and check continuity to ground. If continuous when open, then the second option. Wire is located under the plastic trim by the door jamb, inside a section of loom, runs from the b-pillar to the dash. Don't use the dome light like some ppl do, that's ghay.
Or you can wait for PULOVR to roll in here, and he can prolly tell you off the top of his head... speaking of which, PULOVR, you got any spare hood pin switches lying around, nice ones cuz the one on the saturn is rusty and old looking
This green/red wire you thought... did you test it for continuity to GROUND when opening and closing the door??? Some switches don't require any voltage at all

No I didn't check for continuity to ground, I'll definitly check that though, cause in the wiring diagram in the haynes manual it shows one side of the door switch connected to ground and the other side is connected to the green/red wire so it should be the one.
I guess I'll have to run a wire to both doors correct?
I'll look for the wire inside the door jamb to.
thanks for the help bbarbulo

ya i was apart of that thread.... i believe the drivers side door is a green/blue wire.... and the passenger side is light green/red... can't remember the stripe on the passenger side.... but you just gotta take those little sliders that check when the door is open and pop it off and you can see what colour wire you want....
or you could just wire that off of the dome also...

Thanks for the info!
I'll give those wires a try.
One more question, where is the best place to mount the antenna, its a pager alarm so I wanna get the best range possible. I guess the top centre of the front winsheild would be best? Would it affect the range if instead of putting it in the centre I put it over to one side?
Thanks
