MP3 Deck Play Options
I'm considering getting a new deck that plays MP3s .. have a few questions that i couldn't find answers to on manufacturers' site..
For those of you that have MP3 decks, or others that may know the answer the the Qs:
How do MP3s play? I'm concerned about the ordering..
Can you select to play only from a certain folder?
Play all on the disc?
Actually, my main question is can you play from predefined playlists??

I have a Pioneer Mp3 deck... pretty much if ur making an mp3 cd u burn a cd as 'data' rather than 'audio'...it plays the exact same way as a cd would except when u burn the songs u arrange them in folders so therefore instead of searching only tracks u can search by folders....u can play all of the songs on the mp3 disc they just continue playing through all of the folders
in order to play predefined playlists u just have to make sure the songs are in the order in the folder when u burn them onto the disc as u want them to play...
i hope this helps

I can't even think of 20 songs I wanna listen to... where do you find 264 songs to put on one CD? I been listening to Still Ballin for the past 2 days straight, and prolly listen to it for another week

ic.. guess the playlists doesn't exist..
playlists would be so much better..
u can put so many songs a a CD but if u could set up different lists to play select songs, that would be awesome.. but i guess that feature sitll haven't been implemented yet..
i was reading some manuals from jvc and panasonic too.. just playing whole disc, folder, random whole disc, random folder..
ah well. .better than nothing..
an MP3 CD-changer is just insane.. u play different music for like 3 days without repeating anyone songs.. .

The most I every put onto a CDR was 302. That was a cd that was filled with the radio versions of the songs (bit rates that varried from 96-168)....not the extended club versions. If I put the club vesions of those songs onto a CDR, I'd probably only get around half of that (150).

I have a premier (pioneer) mp3 deck.
The play order of the songs flow alphabetically by filename. Ditto with folders. Playlists such as those created with Winamp aren't read by the deck.
So if you want a specific play order, you'd need to rename the files to start with a number.
I tend to just utilize the Random mode when I've got a CD with a lot of files on it.

I personally find that when I burn an audio CD as opposed to an MP3 cd, my subs hit much louder and better.

you only need mp3 capable decks if you have a huge song collection
ex.
I have about 14 gigs of music on my HD's so i got an mp3 deck and i love it
my friend has about 12 songs on his computer and is thinking about getting an mp3 deck--->waste of money
