yes and yes.

You have to buy the parts and get them installed.

You can either get the factory parts, or go aftermarket.
If you would like some help, come on out to a meet, and i'll show you some of your options.

what if I have a manual windows and doorlocks to start with, can I still buy some factory parts to install the keyless entry and power windows?

which would you suggest? aftermarket or factory?

factory is always nice...no fuss, just easy install with a clean look- but more expensive...aftermarket can sometimes cause some headaches but is generally little cheaper than factory and involves a little more to achieve a cleaner look

Sometimes the factory option is MORE of a headache......ie....if someone wanted the rear wiper installed on thier 5th gen HB, and they didn't have it originally, it would involve getting the factory harness out of a 5th gen HB. (the whole harness.....ie.....from the rear to the back of the car), and the factory switch for the steering colum. HEADACHE.

Even the factory windows and doors sometimes have different harnesses over the years. Some cars will have the harness set up, so all you have to do is add the extra factory parts to make it work......but sometimes, the car didn't come with certain options....ie 5th gen HB never had the option for power windows AND door locks. They might of come with one of them, but not both. The harness would not have the extra wires already there.....you would have to add them. This is where the aftermarket route would be easier. The aftermarket power windows come with (some kits....not all) the windows motors, switches, screws, clips, wires.....ect....

You would still have to run the wires throught the door jam boots, but it wouldn't be that hard if you've already done something like this before.
