illegal or not??? (safety handles)

Is it illegal to not have safety handles (holly **** handles) in my car??

The reason im asken is because im redoing the vynal on my head liner and if i don't really need to put them back in the car then i wont cut out the holes for it in the head liner.

Just incase you dont know what im talking about...Here is a picture

they are nice to have for an autocross if you have a passenger but they are more of a opinion then a requirement

im goin to have to reinstall them because when i reupholsted my head liner it shows where the holes are for the handles.... i could have filled them in before putting the vynal over but i was just trying to get it done with cause my parents were bitching about the mess.... so im gonna have to put them back or else it will look dumb... sorry

i'll take pics as soon as i can... im always busy and when im not its around this time of night when its too dark to take pics... but i'll try tomorrow if i have time or on the weekend for sure... it turned out really good... i can explain how to do it and what to use cause my car has been out on these past really REALLY hot days and the vynal hasn't come down or unglued from the head liner... so far so good... lets see what the winter does to it though....

those handles are so that your girlfriend can hang her dress and block your view of part of blind spots.... or for your mother to hold onto when you're 'driving like a maniac'

i see no other use for them in my car.

better to have them removed i would say.

those things are such a nice convinience for getting in and out of the back seat in a 2 door car.. i wish i had them above every seat in my car.. when you get rid of yours, please PM me and i will pick it up from you.
