Yup- not much to it. Just built a box into the well and sealed it with the big top 'plate that is shaped like the moldings. Then I built a small amp rack to the right and cut it so that panel can be lifted to get at the wiring. Then carpet.
However - it did take me quite a while...cause...well....I didn't know WTH I was doing but it all worked out okay.

Happy, where did you get that nice carpet you used in your trunk? Im debating on whether to use the car audio box carpet or a nice carpet, but cost is an issue too.

i used outdoor deck carpet in my car and it was really hard to work with, but matched the interior. speaking of golf, we should start a golf tournament for the club or just a club outting to play golf. tis the season.

but now back to the topic ... another idea for your trunk - box the 12's off to the sides (back against the seats on either side, firing towards the back) and then your amps iin the spaces off to the side. this way you keep the space, it's clean, and you can hit the subs/amps with a little plexi and neon and voila! a show car as well
just an idea...
just an idea...

you can buy all kinds of different carpets ar roma or building box or home depo for a variety of costs. i was origionally going to cover my box in astro turf. cuz i was going to make a top ported box with a little pin coming oout the hole. but i came to my senses and decided blue.
as for custom trunk ideas, you should try out fiberglassing cuz the sky is the limits and you can get more cubic feet out of less area in a hatch back
