Best way to hack up my door panels
Alright so I wanted to throw my Alpine 6.5 inch Type S speakers into my EK, but of course they don't fit. The hole for the speaker isn't deep enough.
I hate hacking up my car for things like this, but the speaker hole in the panel is just so shallow that I can't imagine any decent speaker fitting in there.
So what's the best way to cut the door panel? Dremel with a cut off wheel, or something else? And if there's a way around cutting, I'm all ears.
Thanks.

Most cars aren't deep enough but in the one EK i had i used a dremel and then used a 1/2" wood ring spacer..........I had like 2.75-3" deep deep speakers in their. I know ur speakers aren't as deep so you might not need the spacer and IT WILL clear then window when its fully rolled down.............

Thanks, yeah if I cut it I won't need a spacer. I tried to just put a spacer without cutting it by no go.
And I'm just using the OEM speaker protector (not the one that comes with the speaker), anythign else looks really weird. I don't see why you would have to mod the OEM plastic either, they need to be fine for aftermarket speakers.
