AMP in protection mod

AMP in protection mod
it was working perfectly fine until one hot day
I turned on the car..wait about 3 mins
then turned on my deck
there are no subs at all
so I go take a look on the Amp
the protection light was on
I touched it..it was pretty hot
so I assume maybe the weather is too hot
thats why the amp is over heated
I parked it into my garage and let it cool time.
five hours later
i went to try it again
the protection light is still on
even now
the protection mode nevers go away..
so anyone has any suggestion?
is it time for me to change to a new one?
if I want to fix it
where should i bring to fix.
thanks for your info and help

use a multi meter and put a probe between the ground on the amp terminal, and another extended to the ground on the battery under the hood and check for resistance, if its a bad ground the resistance should be very high

I just recently have the same problem
i noticed the fuses on the amp are burnt out
so i bought new fuses and they burnt out as soon as i turned on the car..
the sub dont play,
same problem with the ground or amp is ****ed?

If the fuses are blowing immediately then it would seem as if you're getting a short circuit either within the amp or in the wiring. Check your output wires and the connections to make sure that the insulation didn't wear off or the wires don't cross. If your output wires are fine it might be the amp.

Disconnect the amp totally and then re-connect.
Remember amps are DIRECTLY connected to the battery, so once it goes into protection mode, some amps don't go off protection mode until they've been totally reset.
just because they seem off when the radio is off doesn't mean amp isn't still powered. The remote is just a switch to turn it on for amplifying the sound.

actually the amps remote is connected internally to a relay which switches on/off the amp totally, if the amp did not shut down 100% batteries would go dead from having an amp on all the time

i guess my amp is dead, I tried everything, it is still in protection mode.....brought it to a audio store and they said they won't able to fix it beacuse they opened it. and they see all different kinds of parts which they don't have it in stock. so..fixing it = waste of money....upset....
