AMP is in protection mode =S ?!!

Unhappy AMP is in protection mode =S ?!!

aright so my buddy just gave me an old but good amp its and axis 1200watt dont know what series. it was working fine and then just this morning it wouldnt work so i popped the trunk and took a look at it. the prot(red led) was flashing ... so i switched up the amps and my amp worked fine so it cant be my fuse/ground right? and all the fuses on the axis amp are fine to.. any idea what it might be?

Could have a short, could be overheated, could have some stupid little thing wrong inside. How good are you with a multi-meter...

protection mode is when theres a problem with the circulation of power did you check the amp fuse?

make sure all connections are good. check the ground and terminal on the battery, also make sure all the wires are tight in the amp
