AMP problems

My buddy has a huge amp problem;

-Sony 760W XPlod (save the jokes)
-1996 Integra SE

History: The amp went in for repair under warranty after a botched install (poor ground), some transistors were replaced and everything was fine until a subsequent power antenna installation.

The power antenna has a ground, remote, and power wire. The remote wire ran from the amp to the antenna. We think the remote wire should have come from the deck, and not the amp (is this correct?), and this may have caused some issues.

Anyways, now the "overcurrent" light on the amp is on all the time, and the subs won't fire. Everything was okay before the installation of the power antenna. My buddy re-installed the antenna and only hooked up the ground and the power wires (left the REM wire unhooked; when the REM wire was hooked, the antenna would not work!?!?!)

Someone please shed some light on this problem, and tell us how to figure out whether or not he needs a new amp.

P.S. - HOW DO YOU HOOK UP THE REM WIRE FOR THE ANTENNA (FROM THE DECK OR THE AMP)

I am pretty sure there is a wire on the deck harnesses for power antenna's, pull out the deck and look for a wire with antenna on it or an abbreviation.

Does the amp work with the remote wire unhooked from the amp ? Have you checked the fuses? Disconnect the amp completely and re-connect it properly, is the antenna wire hooked up to its own power and ground or is it run to the amp?

I JUST had the same amp and the same problem, nothing to do with the power ant, took it back for repairs...

is yur car real humid? like do the inside of yur windows frost or anything like that? due to weather.. this is just random guessing, cause the car that the one i just took back was, thered be frost on the sub and on the amp so i figured moisture got inside shotring or somthin like that causing the over current lite to come on
