60/40 rear converted to 50/50 rear seat need help please

60/40 rear converted to 50/50 rear seat need help please

I want to convert my 60/40 rear split(2000 coupe) seat to a 50/50 rear split (2000 Hatch)
( Igot nicer rear seats from a 00 Hatch)

Has anyone done this ?
Removing and replceing the bracket ?
Welding ? Where to get welding done ?

any help would be greatly appreciated.

also looking for the rear trunk/seat carpeting from a 96-00 Hatch

why butcher your car??? any body shop can weld in the bracket, but WHY?

I don't have welding equipment, plus I'm 4 hours away. Try any body shop that you trust.

go to a body shop and get them to grind the welds off and reposition the thing to where you want it.

i can give it a shot

I welded some panels on my car. Wanna let me try welding your seat tabs? Just pay for my materials ($15) and YOU have to mark and prep (remove plastic, trim, carpet from the area, etc) where you want the new tabs. I won't spend more than 1 hour on this.

My Mig is wired and still ready!

Exactly. This means that you gotta get the new seats, take out the old ones, and hold the new seats in place to eyeball where you want them to be positioned. Then, look at the tabs where the seats latch and bolt to the car and see where they must now be moved too. Please research this on the net, use google, and tell us what you find... I'm sure some guy has done this already in the states or somewheres. Do it yourself projects are filling the net up everywhere.
