you guys wana take a stab at this one
First question
buddy has a 95 GSR swapped in a 99 1.6 EL (Head says 95 on motor)
Second:
His ECU says P72-C05, so im assuming this is a 1999 OBD2 ECU?
Right now hes running the GSR on his stock P2P ecu, it runs fine but has rev limit like 7200 etc, not optimal for the GSR
We tried changing the wiring around but were lost, he said he didn't change any wiring in the engine bay when he swapped motors, just plugged in all harnesses, and it runs.
From all the info we found on the net, like:
http://tech.hybridgarage.com/t....html
it shows how to swap the pins to get it to run, but we have a few problems like mentioned, its an OBD1 motor, AND he has the OBD2-B harness, which is diff from 96-98 civic, i checked it out in my helms, way different config.
Any ideas what we should do?

I highly recommend wiring the car up right.. this means new wires to the ecu from the plugs in the engine bay following the schematics.... long and hard project to jump to a different level of OBD

how is the 95 engine OBD-2???, i would think thats obd-1
prolly used a obd-2 dizzy. intake manifold wont work properly either, they are dual butterfly's, need to run wires for IAB's,
why not just purchase a obd-2 to obd-1 conversion harness, and run a p72 ecu (obd1), less hassle, more power, the higher the obd, the less hp, because of "limiting" & "ecomony fuel efficient systems"

yea we advised Mike to get an obd2-obd1 conversion harness. I think he'll see better results turning the car into obd1.
If you read the head properly, it states the yr/month/day on it.
As I said, motor is an obd2 motor, came out of Integra w/ obd2 ecu etc..
I've seen a few motors like this, Luckystar is famous for them as well.
Motors made right on the changeover year.
I had a 2nd gen b16 that was obd1, but my head was stamped 91.
Same in my bro's Accord he has a h22 thats obd1 and the head is stamped 91 as well.

well the motor was clearly made in 1995
but thats production year, so im guessing they used this motor in a 96 or 97 GSR depending on when it was finally installed in the car
