Woo WHo! CAI is finally in!

Woo WHo!

I finally managed to get the CAI in, with the IAT (it's a temp sensor) in too.

Drilled it myself (thank you) Man that drill bit cost $25 bucks!

Just took it on the highway for a test drive.

MAN IS that thing LOUD!!!! I my ears are ringing!

It's sounds about stock under mild driving, but once you step on it it's boarderline unbarable!!! And then the VTEC kicks in!!!

Wooo WHoo I LOVE this thing, can't wait to try it in short ram configuration.

Marty, I'll take you out for a ride if you're deciding on going AEM.

Yeah it is a CAI from AEM for a del Sol, comes as a two peice that can be used as a short ram and CAI.

Marty, I'll take you on the Highway next time we meet up, bring earplugs!

Oh man, Mike, I can't imagine what yours sounds like, esp with an engine like yours.

Anyone know if it's as loud for bystanders/cyclist as I think it is?
I'd like to know what I sound like when I'm driving by with the VTEC kicked in.

Anyone have an AEM CAI that want's to do a full on drive by for me?

lol to answer your question, this reminds me of a story.. I was driving to work a few weeks ago. I was late, like 10am. I'm on creditview north turing east on britannia... ripping it in 2nd!! so the AEM CAI is screaming on my 98 si (sohc vtec) and I come out of the turn at 60. yeah it was a bonehead move but the ramp was so nice and it was a green light!!

the next light a cop pulls me over and starts hassling, I never saw him but he obviously saw me.. :working: so after a few minutes of discussion he issues me a ticket for not signaling a lane change, and I take it.

as he hands me the ticket he goes "I'm going easy on you today, I could have given you a ticket for too loud of an exhaust"... and I didn't even have a freakin exhaust on the car!!!! yes it was the AEM CAI.. I was lucky the cop was stupid and didnt check under the hood. hahaha

i love how cops always use that "i'm a nice guy" line and they list 10 things they could've ticketed you for knowing full well that they'd all be bs tickets that would never hold up in court.

cops :working:

i think its worth the extra $$$, some would disagree

I hear the bypass valve is useless.. it hinders airflow so there is no performance gain.

you know while on the topic, has anyone heard horror stories of AEM's having problems in SNOW?

someone suggested I remove mine for the winter.. any thoughts?

I'm going to go to short ram configuration in the winter.

No Bypass, don't need it, not going to submerg the car in 3 feet of water.

But man I gotta take this CAI out an return it! It's making me drive like a manic! I've been trying to hit it full throttle as much as I can so I can here the "GRRRuuuuRRRAAAA, BRRRRRAAAAAA!!!" (braaa part is VTEC)

I'm so going to get arrested.
