Is this a dumb idea?
Can I mount this:
Under the car, and connect dryer hose to it, and run the dryer hose to my stock air box?
Right now I have the resonator out, and dryer hose going to the bottom of the car, but it just sits at the bottom, so i donno if it sucks up alot of air or not.
But with this idea, would it force air up the tube to the air box, doing a btter job?
Any downfalls to this idea?

When I had that I used a toilet flange...
Attached the hose to the bottom....
Made it face the grill and voila RAM AIR...
No crumpled hose either...
Used a couple zip ties and it lasted until i took it off...
Made a tiny difference...

An interesting idea and worth experimenting...
However I don't think you'll get the results that you're looking for.
Since the dryer hose is not actually a part of your intake, there is no sucking action taking place, the dryer hose then acts as a channel that directs air flow, nothing more, nothing less.
A horn-shaped opening at the end will direct more air into the dryer hose if you objective is to obtain greater air flow, the size of the horn-shape the more air you hit...
So in essence, mounting that dryer vent would be essentially plugging up the dryer hose restricting air flow.
Thats my 2 cents

I can always try those register openings that go in your floor too, maybe they might work.

Conect the other end of the hose to the resonator...
The other to the toilet flange....
point in the direction of the of motion and drive..
It ain't no CAI but it works...
I can help, might still have my toilet flange too...

If I connected the dryer ducting securly to the intake box, whats the big difference beween a real CAI and the home made one? They would both be sucking in the air from under the car that is cold. Its just the CAI filter is on the end, and mine is halfway to the engine.

Go with the el cheapo set up.
Its old school and approved.
i have to disagree with the dryer vent set up,
even if you point it in the direction so air can enter while you're driving, you're still narrowing the opening.
RESTRICTION OF AIR

Ok thanks guys, I think I might try the toilet flange idea.
As for mounting it to my front grill, is there space? Last time I looked in there it was tight and my radioator took up most of the room.
