Hi All, for those who has winter tires. When are you planning to get them installed?

I am thinking may be next week...is it still too early?

When I used to put snows on my old car, I would do it around the beginning of December. You don't want to put them on too early as most snow tires are a relatively soft compound and will wear out quicker the more you drive them on dry pavement. There usually isn't any significant snow until December anyway, although you never know.

I did this last weekend. The day of the photo day actually... after I missed it I figured I might as well do something productive.

Another reason I put them on so soon was because below ~10 degrees my Kumho 712's really harden up fast and I wasn't feeling comfortable after nearly loosing traction during turns and acceleration.

So now I'm on Kumho Snows... I should get a big Kumho sticker for my car or something!

how do you like your kumho's? i was going to get a set of thsoe but i went with hercules becasue i dodn't know if they were any good.

Don't tell me you're going to pay somone to put your winters wheels on.

Just get them on steelies and put them on yourself.

I'm prob going to put the winter rubber on sometime dec or first major snow fall, whichever coems first.

so far they're great..... only 3 days of rain, but still, a lot better than my summers in the cold mornings, i feel safer now.

i got them for a great deal a couple months back, so i went for it under the thinking "any winter tire is gonna be better than an all season"

they're used only one season and have soooooo much tread left.

No worry, I am doing it myself...imagine I have three cars in my household...I can't afford to take them to the shop and get the tires installed!

I am lucky enough to have extra set of rim for all three cars! But thanks for asking!
