Civics use struts, although many people (myself included) use the term shocks and struts interchangeably - technically they are not the same. AGX advertized as 'shocks' are really struts... and no you don't need to buy shocks and struts. It's either one or the other and for Civics specifically, it's struts.

Struts have the additional function of providing support as well as providing shock aborption. They are a structural component of the suspension and tend to replace control arms in front wheel drive cars. Your civic uses struts, but mine (2k0 SiR) has a multilink independant suspension up front so i would get shocks since there are no struts. Instead of struts there are upper and lower control arms that provide support and stability. You can read the following links for general info but for more detailed stuff look for my last post on the topic or ask ryuujin about it. I think i sent him a link about it.

If the application is available for your car (which Koni Yellows are) then it will fit fine... regardless of shock/strut branding.

As jugglez said, you can get koni yellows for your car, cause the real and essential difference between shocks and struts is the application and function in a suspension system. Struts have the additional functionality of providing lateral support.

BTW if you can, get the koni yellows. Everything else is second best.

i wish i could afford yellows now but i cant. besides, im not a hardcore racer in any way. in a couple years when i swap in a better motor...then ill throw on yellows...or maybe something better! but for now...i just want looks and a half decent ride. Kybs or tokico will do just fine for now
