Vibrating CAI ???

Hey,
I seem to be having a problem instaling a cold air intake on a DX engine. First of all its a TOMMotorsport intake, so basically like the generic/ractive type ones. I think the piping is a little short, or has no slack whats so ever on it. But it was hard getting it to fit. We finally managed to get it on, but after it was installed, the car vibrated like crazy when at idel. Also, the engine sounded funny. However, when I tried it as a short ram, it worked fine, no vibration and a nice sound. What could be the problem and any recomendations? Also, generic ones don't have a specific designed bracket to hold it, is there one required and if so how did u make it? Thank you

is the pipe vibrating or is the engine idling low?

try adjusting the idle screw?

if it's the pipe thats vibrating then wrap a towel around the pipe..

the whole car frame is vibrating. Like I can sit in the car and it feels like a massage chair. And the engine doesn't sound normal, it sounds like its pulsating?

All done, I played around with it for a while, would the engine vibrate because of the different air volume or anything? Also, another thing to note is that cuz the pipe is such a tight fight, the part of the pipe/filter near the bumper touches the frame, but still, should that make it feel like a vibrating chair? ITs just odd, that its fine w/ short ram, just the extension causes it to do this.

I think I ran into similar issues when I installed my cold air kit.
My problem was this: There is a small pipe that goes from the intake tub (near the throttle body) into the engine itself. Because my kit was not a perfect fit either, I noticed that the pipe got bend and all air flow got cut off. I had to fiddle with the length of the pipe until the air passage was clear again.
Check that the mini-pipe going to the engine from the cold air tube is not abstructed or twisted.
