A very newbie question about an Si motor

Hey guys, I drive a 2000 Civic Si coupe and the motor recently died on me. So my dad got one of his buddies to do a swap for me but I have not yet seen the motor myself. I'm a little worried that he might try to screw me over and put in a crappy dx motor. How would I know that it is actually an Si motor that I'm getting?

Look at the block code, make sure it says D16y8.....

this code is located on the timing cover and on the block, right beside the tranny.

^^ yup thats all you have to do is look for the code which is d16y8, extremely easy good luck

or

tell him its the wrong motor and its supposed to be a B18C5 and now he has to pay for it cause he wasted your time
