Hehehehehehehehe.

He did a great job and i recommend him to whomever need some work on their car. He was honest and noticed a very small problem that i had. And he went ahead and fixed it for free and he was very honest about not doing work to my car that i didn't approve. Definately get's the

So how is the car running now? Was it worth the money to get the valve adjustment?

I don't know if this is a direct result of the VA but i am getting better gas kilometrage. And the car does pull al ittle harder over all the caris quieter also. well worth it.

how much does a valve job normally cost, and how long does it take...if i don't get it done, will it harm my engine.....i recently swapped a new engine, and the mechanic, didn't do one, wut ***........

I always get my service done at the dealer and it's usually part of your 24,000 service. I got my oil changed, tires rotated, valves adjusted, brakes serviced, fluids topped up for about $180.

I did my first few services at the dealership, but after you get to the 48,000km service the prices start to get ridiculous.

Honda recommends valve adjustments when the car has 48k on it to improve fuel economy, etc. The engine must be cold for an accurate adjustment to be done (ideally sitting for three hours or so - depending on how cold it is outside).

A good friend of mine (who has three civics in his household) has only done the adjustment once @ 48k and has not done it again since on his cars. One of them has over 160k on it and still runs great w/minimal ticking.
