tire pressure

hey guys, just wanted some opinions on tire pressure. i always set mine to the recommended pressure that it says on the door.

but i was talking to a buddy of mine who sets his way higher than the recommended, like 50 psi in the front and 45 in the back. says the handlings better and never had any probs.

does this make sense to do for general street driving?

I think that is a little bit too high. Stay with OEM setting. Unless you are on the race track where you need to let out more or put in more to achieve different setting.

I run within 3-5 psi of the recommended spec.

so between 32-38 psi dependning on use... on the highway I run a little extra PSI

lol, you are too cool!

Stock tires generally around 28psi is good.

Performance tires, low profiles require way more psi. My old toyos on my teg were @ 40-42psi

Look on the tires. some performance tires or high end tires they say Max psi is 44psi or 51psi. So put around 35psi all around. If u just use stock tires most tires will say 35 psi. Put 32 psi all around. In the winter time u can put around 30 psi. Hope that helps.

use 30/30 if you over inflate your tires will wear out faster in the middle of the tire, but if you want better traction, put it around 25-27 but regular driving and such use 30/30

but that's my two cents
