Sporadic Hydro Clutch Problem

Need advice on what could be causing this problem:

I have to drive really slowly in 1st to pull into my tiny parking spot (concrete pillars on both sides, spot is barely bigger than my car).

Usually, before I pull into the spot, I stop, put it in 1st gear, and hold the clutch all the way in. I pulse it out enough to get the car going, push clutch all the way in again, and coast into the spot.

The problem is after I'm parked, still in first, clutch all the way in, I CAN'T SHIFT OUT OF FIRST! My shifter is stuck in 1st!

It feels like even though I have the clutch all the way in, the damn thing is still engaged a bit! If I come off the brakes, my car will roll forward, just like if I was driving an automatic. Clutch all the way in the entire time.

This happens once every week or so when I pull into my spot at home.

It's a stock 93 Civic Si, hydro tranny etc.

could I have a pooked master or slave cylinder? mucked up clutch? synchros? air in my clutch line?

HALP!

any leaks on your clutch master and slave?

any clutch fluid dripping from the pushrod under the dash where the clutch pedal is?

No leaks, no drips. Clutch reservoir is always nice and full.

I even got someone to hold the clutch down for me while I experienced the problem. I checked how far the slave master had moved, and it had moved all the way over (a few cm). It looks like all my hydraulics are in good working order.

I flushed it all out for good measure, and still have the problem... crud... this clutch was just put in a few months ago!!!

So the sticking only occurs when your standing still or does it happen while driving?

when you had the clutch replaced, did yuo replace the pressure plate, release bearing as well as the clutch plate?

More info...

It only happens when standing still. I've never had problems shifting out of 1st when the car is moving.

I had the tranny rebuilt, clutch, pressure plate and release bearing all replaced last summer. All replaced parts are those included in an OEM Honda clutch kit.

I don't race, ride the clutch, or otherwise abuse my car, but that doesn't rule out that I might have a pooked clutch now does it?

pressure plate... if the clutch goes it slips.... not sticks (AFAIK) but the pressureplate if the release springs go (or get weak) they don't fully release the pressure on the clutch keeping it engaged...

either way it's time to take off the tranny and replace flywheel clutch and pressureplate anyways ... might as well do it when your in there

I come accross these fairly often. Like everyone said, if the slave is not leaking and is actuating then your pressure plate hub is cracked and there is no more or very little tension on the springs left or a spring in the pressure plate is broken.

either, tranny comes off and new clutch is needed, or a new pressure plate at the very least.
