Sound of shattered glass, comming from the engine!

Guess what children, Zeeman was correct about the chip, being crap! I changed the Spoon program chip to Mugen program, and the issue no longer exists. Car is now running just a bit rich, compare to before that it was running waaaaaaaaaaaaaay too rich. The valves dont make noises anymore, and power band is alot better now. VTEC comes is at 5500, and it actualy pulls!
The Spoon program was dumping a sh*t load of fuel in engine, and had altered the timing as well, resulting all the noise comming from cams and valves...
I still would like to have a stock program though, as I dont like the car running rich. Plus I still have a weired tiny noise comming from the engine, when I hold the rpm in 4500 area...
Anyhow, it seems that engine management was all screwed-up, due to the programing, being a crappy chip...
So I'm alot happier now. Thanks for all your help and replies, in this hard times of getting a OBD2 engine to work in a OBD1 car with costum wiring.
Thanks!

Hey, I have absolutly no interest in all the other **** that is being talked about here, other then the above.......Are you talking about a "pulsation" when braking, or a "vibration" when sitting at a constant speed?
P.S. "Nicole ? You are a girl ?" <----------come on, what's this about? This chicks got more expereince working on differnt types of cars - never mind her civic , then most guys I know or meet.

sounds like your timming could be skyhigh bro. check that also. I had my timming belt done and it wasn't adjusted right. After about 3-4000 rpm nothing happened exept noise. It sounded like a race car but no power. food for thought

Ya - it's been a while since i've been on TCC.
Time for me to get back into it. I'll be sure to head out to the local meets this spring when the weather's nicer and the car's back on the road.

Regarding the problem which seems to be a non-issue as of now. I was going to suggest that your VTEC was engaging without sufficient oil pressure. I've diagnosed this problem in the past and and it had the same symptoms you were describing.
This noise can be heard (sounnds like all the valves are falling out and being thrashed around) due to premature VTEC engagement (possibly related to your chip??), low oil pressure due to a clogged screen in the solenoid etc.
Anyways, kind of too late after scrolling through all of the non-related gibberish between flamers.
Glad to hear you have it solved.
