Smoke, How Come??
I just wanted to know why do older cars smoke when you step on the gas? What could be wrong? My friends 1990 integra still works the same since I knew he had the car, still has the same power, but now when he steps on the gas it smokes, can anyone help him out? Anyone know the problem?

oh well maybe it's the transmission thing but his tranni shift smooth no problems, plus is there a honest mechanic that would actually tell u this? Or would they tell my friend something else.

unless yer tranny (auto) is leaking into the rad and yer rad in turn is leaking into yer engine (heads)..

so then basically his engine is messed up if he need a rebuild right? I was thinking Because it still has it's normal power I thought it would just be something small but I guess I'm wrong.

blue = oil,
black = rich gas/incomplete burn
white = water
neither of which is a good indication. 1st of all find out what colour smoke it is, and how it smells. Then, check compression wet and dry.
