Si or SiR muffler

is there any flow advantages between a Civic Si, SiR, ITR muffler?

I have a civic si 98. I want to stay stock exhaust with the aftermarket headers and intake I have.

Was wondering if I bought an SiR muffler if it would make any difference.

The Si and SiR muffler looks the same but I just don't know if it's worth it.

thanks!

Yes, they are different... an SiR muffler would be good for you... made for 160hp stock, so it's all you'll ever need for the SOHC you got.

bbarbulo: Whats the difference between the GSR and ITR muffler and what are needed for it to fit on my 5 gen 4 door? Also would the SIR muffler be a bolt on job? Thanx

The ITR has bigger piping and it's mandrel bent from the factory. SiR axle-back may be a bolt on since as you see here, 92-00 Civics share the part number - 5 ZIGEN FIREBALL REAR MUFFLER: CIVIC 92-00 (CPE/4 DR) Item#: 5Z-FB-EK4
