Shift Points... SYncros?

Just wondering if maybe my tranny would be better of with different syncros?

When i Shift from 2nd to 3rd Gear it normaly shifts fine... Although under hard driving circumstances it wont let me into 3rd gear above 7600rpms...

I mean it will let me in gear but its rather tough getting it in ... Anysuggestions.. or expereince you guys might have to share?

oh imrunning a 2000 SiR Tranny

hey guys...just outta curiosity...is it expensive to go to a shop n have tranny work done? my tranny grinds goin from 1st to 2nd n 2nd to 3rd, like when i shift around 6K +...i've been told to just drive it normally until it gets really bad, and then change tranny, but i think it's in the early stages still, would i be better off goin to a tranny shop, so they can examine it and fix it? like say if it was just the synchros onthe gears...

dude, you could probably get a new si tranny for $400 or something in good shape... much cheaper than tranny work.. replacing synchros and **** could be like 800+ i believe...

I think it's not your synchro it's your linkage or bushings..change your oil first check linkage for play

oh ok, well if i go to a mechanic to get my tranny fluid changed(i plan to use GM Synchromesh Friction Modified version), will the mechanic know wut to look for if i say "check the linkage or bushings on the tranny"? or will i have to go to a tranny shop? and to checkt he linkage or bushings, will he/she have to dig in somewhere to find it? or can he see it like right there from lifting the car up?

hey guys...ok my tranny doesnt grind anymore...dunno why...i think it could be bushings

cuz before, when i was ineutral n sittin there, the shifter shook quite a bit...made a vibrating noise n all...now it's all quiet, doesnt vibrate much..and dodesnt grind....could this be bushings? cuz i read that if the shifter was shaking alot, it's the bushings on it...could bushins like..idunno "fall back into place" type of thing? i'm still gonna change my tranny fluid cuz it needs to be changed, but how bout this bushing? should my mechanic know what a bushing is? lol or will he tel lme to go to a tranny specialist? he's like the A+ mechanic, whichever has all the certifiates, should these ppl know how to check the bushing/linkage? cuz again, now my tranny is fine...but at the same time this concerns me lol
