Rear Defogger

I have a 2001 Prelude and the rear defogger does not work. I recently purchased the car, so I'm sure it was like that when I bought it. So, when I push the button for the rear defogger the led light doesn't even come on. Everything else in the car works. So far I just checked the one fuse under the dash and the one under the hood, both were ok. Since the led light does not even come on when I push the button would that point to that unit not working? If so, is it worth taking apart to possibly fix it or should I just go to a wreckers? Or, is it not getting power; hence the let button light not coming on when pushed?

I have the service manual but the trouble shooting for this is a pretty long process. So, I figured I'd ask here first...who knows, maybe it is somewhat common and an easy fix *crosses fingers* Thanks in advance!
