All intakes connect to the throttle body using a rubber piece and a ring clamp.

Yes, pretty much 100% sure. Since the whole point of an intake is to replace your stocvk one. Otherwise why get an intake?

When you say intake are you referring to the piping and cone filter? Or are you just talking about a cone filter on it's own? Maybe you got an intake made for another model car?

Supply some more info...for an idea of how the install goes go to my site with pics of my intake install.

Seems to me that you got a differnt model intake for your car.
ex sedan i think the tb pointes upwards, and if your intake doesn't curve down to the tb, then thats not the intake for your car. you probley got one for the si.

Not all use a rubber piece, but all that I've seen use a ring clamp

Bring it to the meet.

I had one for my EK sedan, in which I had to connect it to the air box because the idiot at SLS gave me the one for the American EX and wouldn't take it back. It still works, but you have to cut a whole in your stock filter so air can flow. Two filters uses wwaaaayyy too much gas and if you don't leave the filter in the air box, there will be a gap in which it makes this annoying hissing sound because air can go through that gap. Just be careful when purchasing the Ractive SRI because they are labeled for the american civics. Just my experience with them.

Regards,
D-T
