Problem with power

so i have a sohc non-vtec ZC and a couple of weeks ago my car broke down, it wuz the alternator. But since i got it replaced i lost alot of power, it seems like as soon as i hit 4500 rpm it just struggles like the power just cuts off. It just feels really slow and not like it used to be...anyone kno wut it could be??

TIA

how is your timing at high RPM... hook up a strobe light while under load and watch your timing - I'll bet you the distributor is messing up.

what I'm saying is you have to do a dynamic timing test, not just at idle. IMO, under load you have a distributor that is misfiring, something you have to look at on a chassis dyno and a strobe light to verify.
