Or you could just drive the car with the rear brakes locked and that'll heat them up real quick.

I had that happen to my escort brakes... they heated up so much that they boiled the fluid and then i'd loose brake pressure.. it freaked the **** outta me the first time it happened!

This is why engineers need to design something to remind the handbrake is engaged... just a simple lighted display icon isn't enough for me, when I get the chance to drive a lil or such, i get so nervous I don't realize anything on the dash... once I almost backed out of the garage with the handbrake engaged on dads crv

ITS ALIVE!

I tried my car out this morning, and away she went, so the e-brake lines must have been frozen on!

So while its cold out, disconnect your line at the e-brake from the interior of your car...and spray WD40 into the cable lining...WD stands for Water Displacement...you can get rid of the water in your lines and have another winter of safe driving...Also do it from the wheel side of the brake line. If you leave water in there, your lines will rust and seize up completely, never to be functional again. Another concern is...how did water get in there. The line may be rubbing on the chassis, and hence the rubber surround may be broken, where the water got in...so a replacement cable may be in order.
