odd noise from rear of car

So, start with the easy/free fixes first... adjust your brakes

I explained in a post earlier why the noise goes away when you apply the brake....

and we were discussing how wheel bearings ware out prematurely...I agree with bbarbulo applying the brakes can make a wheel bearing noise go away.. Read the thread..no ragging :P

i just read it all and i didn't really gain anything from it.... just that when my brakes are applied the load shifts.... which is true...

to be clearer about the braking thing though... if i am ever so slightly on the brake the original noise goes away.... probably should have mentioned that earlier but i didn't think of it.... like if i just touch the brake petal... not enough to start braking but like so the brake light comes on it goes away
