OBD-II ECU tuning

Ok... so I've searched around on these forums trying to figure out why OBD-I ECU tuning is always preferred over tuning an OBD-II ECU. So I googled it and came up with this. I thought I would share it with everyone.

"For performance tuning purposes, OBD-II is next to useless since the rate of information retrieval is just too slow. Since all new cars must support OBD-II, the standard is a lowest common denominator - it is a standard that must be achievable by any vehicle ranging from a van to a supercar. The standard specifies that an OBD-II reader must not request data from the ECU at more than a couple of single data values per second, even if the ecu is capable of much higher speed. For this reason among others, car and ECU manufacturers choose to support OBD-II as a legal requirement, but use other, custom protocols for their programming and diagnostic functionality. What is required for optimum diagnostics and tuning is an advanced method of communicating with the ECU and transferring data at transfer rates which enable useful analysis."

for the price of getting your obd2 ecu chipped/modded or whatever you could convert to obd1 and be done with it.
