New Motor

Im gunnna be getting a motor from a wrecking yard, its 2000 with 20 000kms. Now my question is, is it safe to put in the car after its been sitting for that many years? id imagine some of the seals might have dried out and need to be changed,no?

Cap, Rotor, Wires, Plugs, O2 Sensor, PCV Valve and ensure the IACV and TB is clean along with the Timing Belt and Waterpump Kieran mentioned.

Also not a bad idea to change both the fuel and air filters on the car when completing your installation.

Ive been thinking about this too, the motor im picking up has been sitting in a shed outsdie for a year, no rain or snow could get in ....anyways, so u guys are saying the internals of the motor would still be fine?

Imported JDM motors sit in junkyard field for years totally exposed to the weather.

IE- my H22A had just arrived from japan and had water in the plug chambers. you could see water spots as the water evaporated over time too.

^^ thats not cuz they sit exposed for "years" It's because the place you bought it from probably power washed it to remove all the dirt and grease to make it look better for sale.
