Post Need To Make Quich Suspension Decision

I need to make a fast decision about what to buy. I have 17” X 7.5” rims on my 95 coupe civic. I am going to buy either NEX coilovers, or this Tokico illumina suspension kit. The thing is, I know that Tokicos are really good, so I would like to go with that set, but the drop is 1.5”, only the shocks are adjustable not the height. Does anyone out there know if 1.5” is tooo much for this size rim. I would just get the Tokico coilover kit, but I'm getting a good deal on either one of these two. Ok, I hope that someone has this kind of set up, peace-

get the tokico advance handling kit (springs and illumina's). I have this kit along with suspension techniques sway bars and i LOVE IT!!!
I used to have 17's and it wasn't too low. In my opinion coilovers aren't very good. I used to have some, its nice that they are adjustable but the ride quality is garbage compared to a spring.
Just make sure that you are getting the kit with springs and illumina's, b/c i know that there is a kit with springs and blue's and the illumina's are way better.
Its actually a little lower than 1.5" more like 1.75" but IMO its perfect, great ride quality and great handling.

you might have an issue with the rim width and offset. 7.5" width could be a little wide. I thin you'l be ok though. If i were you, i'd just wait until the spring to put the shocks in. No point in exposing them to an extra winter.

thanks alot zeeman, is that pic with the 17s? that is deff the kind of response that i was looking for. yeah it is with the adjustable illuminas, as for the nex kit, i dont know if youve every seen them, but you can actually adjust the spring and body height, so you wont get that limited spring recoil. and goldbadge, the springs wont really see the winter. im in iraq right now getting my car done up and i am having it sent overseas to meet me in germany when i get out of here, thanks- anyone else?

yes that is with my old 17's, i now have SIR's. I don't have a camber kit....no need. I got an alignment done directly after i finished the install, which was super easy, and it was in spec.

anything under a 2 inch drop doesn't look like much. But at the same time anything over 2" drop isn't going to ride like my car. I don't have to worry about pot holes, train tracks, or driveways b/c its not too low, but its low enough to serve its purpose.

Look any lower with 15's?

Not really, but it's had to tell from that 3/4 angle pic up top.

Manik, that's crazy that you're going to such lengths to have the civic in a foreign country...like shipping it over and stuff. Good luck with everything.
