NEED change ECU ASAP!

my friend just brought a 94 EG with a 96GSR swap. but that fu*ing thing comes with a 93 SI ECU. so, what should he do now ?

open up the ecu to see if its chipped. It may be chipped with the gsr program. Either that, or get a GSR obd 1 ecu. But i would check to see if the p28 (si ecu) is chipped before you freak out.

Yeah, The p28 can run quite a few motors..

IE - my h22 is being run by a 93 SI ecu (p28)

It's probably chipped, take the ecu out, open up the 5 screws and look for a chip sitting on a mounting bracket. If it's chipped, it'll most like have a sticker on it, especially if it's done by a shop.

it;s chiped . but i dont know what kind chip is it . and the car runs ok untill 7500 rpm.. after 7500... power just drop .... car can rev to 8k though.

have the chip re-done.!

power drop because its harder to enrichen the fuel maps beyond that RPM range with a cheaply made ecu chip.!

just because a red line is at a certain spot doesn't mean there will be powr or torque to that spot.. commonly in Solo 2 I'm shifting before the redline because I know power is dropping off at a certain point before the redline...
