from what others have said you "can" use your stock suspension but you "should" upgrade... if you just wanna blast the car down the quarter mile i doubt it really matters.... but for turning you'd want a little more help up front

it's totally doable on stock suspenion...but it wont' handle very well....yoru car will be fast as all hell yet handle like crap(for the added speed and hp)...it's liek now you got all this speed but cna't stop it and handle it...lol

depends on what you want as punk said...if you jsut want a sleeper to blast straight then keep it stock but if you want a better handling car then do springs and shocks

I have a 93 Hatch I just did a full typeR Sus on her 5bolts and all. it rides good..Its really hooks up good...No wheel hop.

If you want your ride to handle---Wit the H22--- do the swap.

This thing stops on a dime...

I got an H22 Hatch on STOCK suspension..

Rides fine.. Yeah you can't whip corners exactly like stock but you wouldn't be able to do that amazingly with a B18 either.. However, for street driving stock suspension is more than good enough.. As for brakes, an Si's 4 wheel Disc works great as long as the brakes are in good shape. Either way, since there's no ABS, you'll lock up no matter how amazing the brakes are.

Goodluck with the swap.

PM Me if you need any info anytime..
