thats what i'm saying.
But he does have a point about doing things all at once. When you get the headwork done, do everything, don't skimp, but usually when you get your head port and polished they will do a valve job, and mill it (to raise the compression for bigger cams) and the heads gotta be all apart to do that work so if he (your machinist) is going to have to reassemble everything you might as well have him assemble it with dual valve springs and titanium retainers. And since you have to cams out to pull the head off you might as well put better cams in while your putting the head back on after you get it from the machine shop.
But you can easily spend over $2500 on all of just what i said. Then u need to get it tuned.
Your engine will be a different animal after all of that headwork and a good way to eliminate down time on your car you can purchase another head to send to the machine shop and fill with goodies, then swap the heads out and sell the stock one to recover the cost of the new head you bought, this is what i did.

The thing I dont get is why spend 2500 on head work, when u can turbo for almost the same price, I have another question ive was looking on ebay and
i saw a new turbo kit for a b16 second , with everything u need to install it, except the piping to the intercooler, its a greddy turbo, the rest of the set up im not sure who makes it. Why do u think its so cheap? It comes with intercooler, downpipe, oil lines, all that little stuff, just no piping to intercooler, no gauges, no upgraded ece, or chip, so why so chip????

well on ebay the seller has the option of not selling it, or signing on as another person and out bidding your bid by alot forcing the price up. That or it could be a peice of crap. I only buy brand new parts from ebay. I wouldn't buy a used item without being able to phycially check it out first. Too many people have been screwed by sellers on ebay.
A good, reliable turbo kit will cost $2500-4000 alone. Then you need engine management and bigger injectors and tuning. Turbo cars are notoriously high maintainance, compared to n/a. I personally wouldn't run a boosted car as my only car that i drive daily, but thats just me.
Some people like boost, some people like n/a, its all personal preferrance.

"personal preference" <-- bingo!
i would only boost my car if i know i have another daily... because i drive almost everyday... which makes it a headache to keep up with the maintenance on a turbo car... not that turbo is not reliable, because it will be with proper tuning... but then, there all sorts of small things you have to be aware of... for any cracks, leaks, make sure oils good, make sure temps running good, nothing is broken down, make sure all the plugs are nice... all those things you have to be aware of and check on a regular bases to make sure nothing breaks down in the middle of the highway... =)

i know for 2500-3000 to built n/a, you would rather go turbo with about the same and the whp number can be doubled... you might think for 2 grand you're only gaining another 40-50whp... and turbo you can be gaining like 150-200whp...

my personal preference is just n/a... at one point i was leaning toward boosting because of the power gain, especially "torque"... but i would need to spend time to keep up with maintenance and also i would be looking into owning another vehicle...
