Have you checked fluid levels? Are u using the correct fluids when putting it back together? Is the shifter fork bent?

Sounds like a shift rail or fork problem. What materials are the forks made out of?
OR, whoever rebuilt the tranny didn't shim it properly.
I've rebuilt a few DSM trannys and the first one I screwed up and lasted 2 stop lights....ended up not being shimmed properly.

Did the trannys grind before they got stuck?
I'm not saying your building skills suck.

Maybe it's a hybrid tranny? Whoever you bought the motor from already built the tranny and didn't do it properly.

Have you tried to jack the car up and manually shift gears with someone in the car? Could be a linkage problem....

does the actual car go into gear fully and then pops out?
or it only goes in half way and you can hear some griding noises?
