more horse power..?

hey guys i have a 95 civic VX i was wondering if i put a 95 SI head on it could i get more horse power? (vx block si head) does it even work?

D15Z1 1.5 16VSOHC VTEC-E PGM-FI 1493 92hp@5500rpm 97tq@4500rpm 92-95 Civic VX


D16Z6 1.6 16VSOHC VTEC PGM-FI 1590 125hp@6600rpm 106tq@5200rpm 92-95 Civic EX/Si/Del Sol

could i use the SI computer ?

Well you can put a vtec head on a non vtec block its called a "mini-me" and is a decent way of increasing power on a budget, but you are still left with a crappy tranny and small displacement.
And for what it would cost for parts and such you could just put a d16z6 (si) engine and tranny in and be done with it. Or save up a bit for a b-series swap.
Doesn't the vx come with a factory wideband o2?

save your money. You will not be satisfied with the z6 head. Trust me, i have a d16y8 and I hate it.

Yep. 5 wire as opposed to the common 4 wire.

the VX motor is a real D0GGFU<KER.!!!!!!!!

i have the head its been in my garage for a year
its not costing me nothing
im wondering will it work ?
puting a SI head on the vx block (vx is v-tec too but has less hp. then a dx) if i can get 10-20 hp by get'n my hands dirty why not its a winter car

yes well i would resurface the head or mill it a little to raise the compression up a bit. Are you using the SI intake manifold, injectors and throttle body too?
Wouldn't putting a z6 head on a z1 block give you a really low compression?

different people have different likes. IMO my engine isn't too fun to drive. I can't wait till I swap and get that crappy sohc outta there
