knock knock

hey guys i need ur expertise,

i have my car lowered on H&R sports on stock shocks. I am running 17's with 205/40/r17 with 40 offset.

When i make left turns with a bit more pep (esp. on uneven roads), i hear ' knock knock knock knock' (very rapid knocks like someone knocking on the door) in the right rear.

However, when i make right turns, i dont have that problem (no noise at all)

i figured if it was my tire rubbing, it should happen on both sides right? I dunno. Could it be shocks? If so does a broken shock usually make rapid knocking noises on cornering?

If you know what is going on can you EXPLAIN what it is and why it is happening?

Thanks for any help.

sounds to me like one of your axels is clicking away, check your axels for torn cv boots.

how sure are you that it's from the back? it does sound a lot like a CV joint except you say it's coming from the back.... if you don't know how to inspect all these things, I recommend you go to someone who does. mechanics make a living doing this for a reason.

if its coming from the back, check ur rear fender and if ther are any marks on your tires... The rear fender may have to be rolled up a bit, i had this problem, where when i made a harder left, that my car would have body roll making the rear passenger side fender and tire rub, if you want to ttest this get like white chalk mark up your rear tire go make a couple turns, if u see scuffs, it will be the fender hitting...

my 2cents

thanks for the responses guys.

i will try the chalk test 2morrow. However, i have checked the rear tire and the rear well and neither have markings. The well is damage free from what i have seen and i assume if it was rubbing it would be torn up or completely smooth or something right?

Additional info:

1) The steering wheel does not shake at all.

2) The knocking occurs more frequently and even on slow left turns when there are 3 ppl in the car. And when there are 3 ppl in the car, there are more knocks (i.e. turn = knock x 8times)

3) i am certain the noise is from the rear.

thanks for all the help guys
