ITR IM on B16 & ECU question regarding Converting to OBD1...

Hey,

What kind of gains are we looking at when upgrading?
Is it pointless to get an ITR IM and using it with a stock b16 TB, is there a huge difference between the two ?

Another question, if you get an OBD2-OBD1 harness for a P28 to install into a 2nd Gen B16, does that mean you have to change all the engine components such as distributer, injectors etc. to OBD1??

Thanks in advance

it is one of those bottleneck concepts. You will gain a marginal amount with it on a stock setup, but if you have every other bold-on and cams, then add the IM you will see a difference. It is not a bad addition to the motor if you plan on changing more parts down the road.

stock b16 will run slower in most of the rpm band ...except above 7000...with ITR IM. I had it myself and it killed my bottom end.

not worth it unless you have better cams atleast ctr's i/h/e...it flows better on the top end so if you plan on putting in cams and reving it past 8200 then go for it...but for now taek that 800-1000 bux and get some cams or i/h/e oh ya adn get a vafc cause your a/f ratio will be all screwed up so you will need to tweek and dial it back in with the afc...
