try letting it idle with the hood closed for about 20 minutes. I know sometimes when i try to get the fan to come on with the hood open it won't until i shut the hood

if that still doesn't make the fan turn on try jumping the thermoswitch (fan switch). With the thermoswitch jumped the fan should turn on as soon as you start the car. If it sill doesn't turn on with the thermoswitch jumped try hooking the fan up directly to the battery using some wire. If it doesn't turn on while its hooked up directly to the battery the fan is probably pooched.

its the coolant temperature switch. Its either located in the termostat housing (the only plug in the thermostat housing) or on the back of the block. It senses the temperature of the coolant and tells the fan when to turn on.

some excellent trouble shooting from andrew. he is exactly right. i have mine disconnected from the sensor and wired a switch into it that is mounted in my dash so i can run the fan whenever i want and turn it off on the highway. my sensor wasn't working either.

I agree, zeeman has some great knowledge and is a good guy to talk to.

Zeeman should open his own mechanics shop.

You and BBarbulo should open a shop together, I can honestly say you have diagnosed more problems without evenn looking at my car then any Honda Dealer has with my car.
