true.. you are trying to help. But in this case you are wrong, why bother arguing man? If it was an o2 sensor and it was that bad that it caused his car to bog and vibrate, he would also complain of poor fuel mileage (which is the 1st thing customers usually notice when describing their problem) you would complain of the car having a loss of power, it would probably bog after the clutch is engaged as well. Stuff like that is a sign of a faulty o2. This guy has clutch chatter which is caused by a bad motor mount, mis-aligned transmission, etc.

janz3n, with a lotta these guys you gotta read between the lines... many of them can't find the words to describe (in a helpful manner) what the problem really is, or simply don't know the proper mechanic's terminology. so you have to look at the problem as a whole and imagine yourself as a lay person having the experience these guys are trying to describe. what this individual is describing quite clearly is bucking due to clutch chatter.

I have a 90 Civic sedan (I've noticed you post on H-T in the 4g4d post in appearance) as well, and I know the vibration you speak of... I have an automatic and my steering wheel vibrates quite a bit at idle in drive with the brakes on (under load). this type of vibration is different from the one the original poster described. In my case, I think the timing might be off a lil bit, plus the old hardened engine mounts....

so diff't circumstances have diff't problems/solutions.

whats your name on honda tech? i didnt know you go on the 4g4d part. all im trying to say is that my car vibrated when i started out in 1st gear. if you want to call it clutch chatter that fine but mine didnt really bog before i replaced my o2. it would shake the whole car. i replaced the o2 and this almost went away.. it helped alot. maybe this guys problem is different but im not lieing about my eperience with this problem and im not imagining that the problem was mostly fixed by doing this.

^^ then it wasn't clutch chatter.

You got to understand, when you say "you did this and it was fixed" the thread starter is going to assume that's his problem as well, so he'll go to napa buy a $80 o2 sensor, replace it and it won't fix a thing. That's why I call people out all the time and say, that's not the problem or I say how to properly test it before replacement. We aren't trying to make you seem stupid here, just saying that we know his problem is not o2 related.

janz3n, my name on h-t is the same. i don't post much... TCC is my 'home'. I just lurk on h-t and try to gather more knowledge and get ideas and so on.

yeah, like chris said, it's good to throw out ideas, sometimes some really off the wall ideas turn out to be correct.... but in this case, we're trying to save the guy from buying an O2 sensor which he prolly doesn't need.

my saturn was like your car, it bogged like crazy in 1st gear... in my case it was the coolant temp sensor... so you see, different circumstances, diff't solution.
