How Low Can I Go On 17" Wheels?
#6
I think 17's would "look" great with a drop that low. But, you'll need camber kits because your alignment will be messed (worn out tires), the ride will be pretty stiff because of the low profile tires (40 series), the tires will rub on tight corners and over bumps, you'll blow your stock shocks in no time and some 17" wheels and tires are pretty heavy and add rolling resistance.
I had 17's with a 1.75" drop and I had some of those problems. Do it right the first time. Do your suspension first. You can get wheels once your suspension is setup correctly. Buy everything you need and have it installed all at once to save yourself a headache later. If you just want a "slammed" look and don't care about anything else, buy some cheap coilovers and call it a day.
