Homemade CAI...?

I'm going to be making a homemade cold air intake for my 1990 Civic Si. I was wondering if anyone has already done this to their 89-91 Civic.. and if so if they can give me measurments of the piping they used, and other little things that you got for your CAI.

If you have pics... post 'em up...

If you got the stock motor just buy an intake, or if you have a swap 3" piping will be enough.

i would suggest using PVC piping... although ppl may disagree with this.. PVC is a thick plastic and does not heat up as fast as any types of metal.. therefore the air will passing through the pipe will still remain at a cooler temp....

plus with PVC u can get all types of bends and stuff... even if u want to try and see with a dual intake setup using a Y splitter..

lol, have fun with the pvc pipe. pvc when heated by the engine releases toxic fumes because of the makeup of it. also, consider the areas you have to join the pipes. you want the intake to be as smooth inside as pssible, having the ridges from the connectors creates too much turbulance.
