Ask Matt (Loudsubz)

I think he had the same problem.

BURN IT...burn the bolt till it's red hot...take two sets of vice grips and screw off the bolt...

what you should do is just take the entire LCA out... that is what i did...

there is two bolts holding it in, one closer to the center of the car, and then the other is right beside the bolt you striped...closer to the brakes....

those bolts should not be nearly as tight.... i got them off with only a rachet and 5 lb mallot.... piece o cake

yah that happens allot, those hex heads are usless for removing... what you need to do is get a fast **** air gun on it, lube it up with some liquid wrench and and spin the nut of full torque with an impact gun...works almost everytime, if it doesnt than grabb the shaft up high with vice gripps, and try again...

I ended up cutting the bolt in 2 places with a saw, and chizzling it away. Now I got to see if someone can rethred it.

ouch..I bet that wasnt fun shouldnt be hard to rethread it, hope you didnt mark up the plunger shaft, at least part of it that enters the shock, when compressed?

if you do have to re thread just drill a slightly larger hole and tap that bitch.... you'll need a larger bolt too though

I just bought a tap/die set for canadian tire, and a 3/4 size bolt, re-threaded it with 3/4 die, and the bolt went on nice and smoth with the impact gun. I didn't need to tap it. However getting the springs off when it comes time too, will be another story.
