having problems starting my 92 civic si..

i have a 1992 honda civic si, the motor has been replaced with the 1.5L vtec motor.

today when i went to drive her, i was not able to start the vehicle. all it did was turn over and over, but would not catch.

the fuel pump is whirring on startup, so i dont think it is that. i went and put 5L of gasoline in a jerry can and put it in the tank to make sure i was not empty.

my fuses under the hood are fine. so what am i looking at as being a problem?

also, before this, every morning when i was low on gas the car seemed to take longer to catch and start, as well, if i was low on gas i would sometimes stall out after briefly starting up......

my opinion sounds like either the engine is not getting any fuel or its a spark issue ( wires, plugs, rotar, distriubuter)

Did you check your fuel pump.

Could just be moisture in the fuel line if the tank was near empty. You can go to CT and get some additive to get rid of that. Either that or could be your coil or ignitor

When was the last time you changed your cap & rotor? my bet is that your distributor is the culprit.

are you getting a spark at all?

well i just went outside and the thing started instant......

i am gonna fill it to full and put some injector cleaner in it...

i was probably not doing it any good by running it on $10 gas all the time and letting it go til almost empty........

its not wise to keep your tank low in the winter time, you never know what would happen next..... you don't wnat to run out of gas in the winter time... i'm glad your problem wasn't big... if its like the dizzy or the ignitor(and/or coil), can be a lil more costly
