Gauge Power Wiring

Dunno if this belonged here or in interior but what the hey, I need a quick answer. Im wiring up a gauge or two, One needs power, ground and signal, the other needs a ground and a power thats triggered when the headlights are on.

Im thinking of tapping into the power from the cigarette lighter and the bulb thats there.

I have 3 wires, red-black (which is power to the light), black (ground Im assumming), and white-blue (which goes to the cigarette lighter). Is it wise for me to tap in to the white-blue wire for the constant 12V? Will the gauge continue to draw power even after the car is shut off?

Are there any other locations you guys can think of that would be good to tap for power? Stereo perhaps? Maybe heater controls as they seem to be located in the same area. Let me know what you guys think. Thanks.

The fuse box is right under the drivers side dashboard. There are probably some free connections there and you can fuse your gauges seperately with a low current fuse.

Well I ended up tapping into those wires I said above, everything works properly, I might fuse the power connections just for safety.
