Fuel Economy Question

Quick question.

How much KM per tank should I be getting per tank?

I have a 2005 Civic Sedan (2100KM, no oilchange until 8000KM)

I was told my fuel efficiency will increase after an oil change or two.

Please do not turn this into a "I get xxx KM/tank therefore i win" thread. Thanks.

My 03 Civic gets close to 600k's a tank regularly.

Your question is vague though. What kind of driving do you do? City, highway, mix? Any mods to your car? Are you carrying any extra weight in the car?

Your car has 2100km's right? How may times have you filled it up since new?

Your fuel efficiency should increase slightly once the engine wears in a bit.

In summer I get 650-700km per tank. I drive mostly highway, and rarely drive my car hard. My record is 725km on a tank, which I hope to beat this summer ;-) In winter I get 525-575 since engines burn more fuel in the cold.

In a new civic you can probably expect to get anywhere from 550-600km on a tank. Cars usually experience increased gas mileage after about 20,000km when the engines are fully broken in. So after a few oil changes (which will be done every 8000km), you should start to notice a difference in gas mileage.

AGREED!!!

Remmeber; the engine is brand new and still breaking in; as well the oil that the car comes with from the factory is a specific break in oil, so after the 1st oil change and regular 5W20 in put into your new Civic it WILL get better!

btw; how many km's do you go on a full tank, and then how many litres to fill it back up?

(that way we can calculate your gas milage)

OH and btw; automatic vs. 5-speed makes quite a difference too.

its soppose to be 36 city EPA

EPA ratings are always a bit off, so im assuming it should get 33 in reality

and im hoping after a couple oil changes it'll get up there.
