Fixing the horn

Hey everyone,

Need a little help with something. My horn stopped working recently (must be from honking at the Neon drivers with half of Crappy Tire on their cars). Occasionally, when you press the button you get a little ghetto toot out of her but she's pretty much done like dinner. Anyone know how to fix the horn? Or even know where I can get a spec/wiring diagram of the horn's functionality?

Thanks in advance!

Clutch.

P.S. This is for a 95 Civic Si.

Souns like she needs replacing. The horn being at the front like that gets exposed to the elements and eventually wears out. Looks like you need a new one. The dealer costs about $60.

FUSE MAYBE???

this happened on my buddy's crx, once in a while when he pressed the horn his taillights stopped working, and the fuse would blow, after he changed the fuse everything was ok. This might have been a problem with his car specifically though.

If the horn is broken replace it with a louder deeper sounding one...

That way when you beep it will sound like you a "MACK Truck"

Good thing in my opinion...

See now, originally I was thinking about the Mac truck. But that's kinda wimpy still. I figure I'll go for the old Toronto Island Ferry fog horn. What do ya say to that? That'll get ppl outta the fast lane quick fast and in a hurry, I tells ya.

But seriously, no one's ever heard of this before? Guess this may not be a DIY job, might have to go see the old mechanic after all.

Its either the horn...

The fuse....

Or the wiring....

First two are relativly easy to fix...

The last will cost you a bit of change...

Have you removed the bumper and looked at the horn...

On eg's its on the front drivers side...

it sounds like the horn, you can take the bumper off and check. this happened on my old Civic, just went to Cdn Tire and got an aftermarket replacement for around $25. Just 2 wires and a mounting bolt to hook up. Any new horn is louder and better tahn the stock one.
